PBM-32/20 magnetic drum separator
The PBM-32/20 magnetic drum separator is designed for wet magnetic concentration of strongly-magnetic ores and materials with the size of 0.1-3 mm in laboratories, as well as on low-capacity production sites.
Characteristics:
The PBM series separators are available in two versions:
- with barium ferrite magnets;
- with NdFeB magnets providing for increased magnetic induction on the drum surface (at least 0.35 Т).
Feed size: 0.1-3 mm.
Operating principle:
The material in the form of the pulp to be separated is supplied in the uniform layer to the bath and flows by gravity under the rotating drum. The direction of drum rotation and pulp motion coincide. When got into the area of action of the magnetic field, the magnetic particles are attracted to the drum surface and carried out to the discharge area. Magnetic system polarity interlacing promotes for magnetic fraction mixing and purer product producing.
For better drum cleaning from magnetic fraction, the induction brush which plates enter the magnetic field of the end pole and become magnetized is used. The magnetic field lines are concentrated on the plate ends, the magnetic particles are attracted to the plates and carried out to the discharge area where they are washed with the water from the sprayer to the discharge tray of the bath.
The nonmagnetic fraction is discharged via the opening of the insert in the bath nozzle. Fine nonmagnetic particles are drained via the overflow fitting.
Depending on the magnetic susceptibility of the material, size of its particles and concentration conditions, the main controllable parameters are selected:
- clearance between the drum and the bath;
- magnetic system position;
- water regime of the bath: pulp level in the bath, amount of water supplied to sprayers and their angle position,
- insert opening section of the nonmagnetic product inlet.
Scope of application:
- protection of EVM and ERM series separators from strongly magnetic additives;
- regeneration of heavy suspensions (ferrosilicon and magnetite);
- ferrosilicon ore concentration;
- iron removal from various materials.
