On June 29, in the frameworks of the School of Young Scientists, under the supervision of Academician Leonid Vaisberg, there was delivered the lecture by the known scientist, Konstantin Anatolievich Lurier (Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA, USA) on the topic: Dynamic materials: new methodological concept.
Professor K.A. Lurier, the known scientist, mathematician, physician, mechanical engineer, representative of the scientific school of St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute and School of Physics and Engineering. He has been working in the USA recently. K.A. Lurier has got brand new fundamental results in the theory of optimal design of systems with distributed parameters. These researches are the basis for creation the structures and materials, particularly, composites and nano-materials. K.A. Lurier has offered and developed a new concept in creation of materials - the idea of the so-called dynamic materials. Such “live” materials have peculiar mechanical and physical properties that allow for receiving the technical decisions not available for usual materials. The important classes of dynamic materials are the counterparts of the natural objects and materials that are formed under the vibration impact.
The researches of K.A. Lurier have been recognized and developed both in our country and in the USA, Japan, China, Israel, and other countries.
The works by K.A. Lurier are of great development potential that is particularly valuable for young scientists determining the areas of their research.
