Scientific and educational center

On the decision of the Board of Directors of REC Mekhanobr-Tekhnika, the non-profit Scientific Educational Center (SEC) was established as the Company unit in 2006.

The mission of the SEC is to promote the largest St. Petersburg universities in training of the innovation-oriented scientific and engineering staff. Actually, the establishment of the non-profit Scientific Educational Center has become an element of social responsibility of the business before the young generation.

The SEC of REC Mekhanobr-Tekhnika is equipped with the latest laboratory equipment and pilot plants created in the company to study and simulate the processing of natural and technogenic raw materials, as well as various solid industrial and domestic waste. The SEC has two lecture halls for 60 and 30 attendees that are fitted with the modern audio and video equipment and means of online broadcasting of scientific and technical events.

The SEC has long-term agreements on creative cooperation with such largest St. Petersburg universities, as Polytechnic, Mining, Marine, Hydrometeorological universities. In the frameworks of the Center activities, the lead scientists and specialists of Mekhanobr-Tekhnika hold training sessions and seminars in such disciplines, as mining machine building, minerals concentration technology, engineering protection of environment, promote for execution of degree works, Candidate's and Doctor’s theses.

The public readings are held at the SEC in the frameworks of the School of Young Scientists under supervision of RAS Academician Leonid Vaisberg who is the Research Advisor of the Center. The world-class scientists from the Russian scientific organizations and largest foreign universities are regularly invited as the lecturers to the hearings of the youth school.

The activity of the SEC as the outstanding scientific educational project of Mekhanobr-Tekhnika is marked with gold medals of the Russian-American Business Council and a number of the international scientific and technical forums, as well as was twice awarded with the prize of the St. Petersburg Government in nomination of “For integration of science, production and education”.
