Severstal is the Russian vertically-integrated steel and mining company owning Cherepovetsk metallurgical companies (Vologodsk region), the second-largest steel works of Russia.
Severstal Russian Steel Division is one of the largest steel manufacturers in Russia. It consists of six segments: steel (CherMK, SMTs Kolpino, etc.), metalware (Severstal Metiz), pipe (Izhorsky Pipe Plant), sales (Severstal Invest), service (Severstal Promservis, SSM-Tyazhmash) and junk work materials (Vtorchermet).
Severstal Resurs Division takes the leading positions in Russia on iron ore, coal and gold production, and manages all mining assets of Severstal OJSC in Russia and abroad. These are two iron ore companies “Karelskiy Okatysh” and “Olkon”, coal mining company “Vorkutaugol” and design institute “SPb-Giproshakjt” in Russia, coal mining company PBS Coals in the USA, and a number of promising projects in the other countries.
