On March 20, 2018, the II session of the School of Young Scientists “Modern methodology of research in mechanics and materials science” was held under supervision of Academician Leonid Viborg in the frameworks of the RSF project “Vibration processing technologies for various materials in the advanced intelligent productions - theory, modeling, fundamentals of creation of mechatronic complexes for their implementation”.
The summarizing lectures that included, among others, own scientific results and attainments were delivered by the outstanding scientists - Academician, Dr. Phys.-Math.Sci., Professor, Director of the RAS Geophysical Center, Chairman of the RAS National Geophysical Committee, Vice-Chairman of the Scientific Board of the International Institute for Applied Systemic Analysis (Austria), A.D. Gvishiani, RAS corresponding member, Dr. Phys.-Math.Sci., Dean of the Mathematical and Mechanical Faculty of St. Petersburg State University G.A. Leonov, and Dr. Phys.-Math.Sci., Director of the Institute for Problems in Mechanical Engineering of the RAS, Professor of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, A.K. Belyaev.
About 100 people - young scientists, post-graduates andgraduate students of St. Petersburg universities took part in the work of the School.
The meeting was held very active and met with great interest of the audience, with many questions and discussions.
The lectures highlighted the modern analytical methods of study and description of various phenomena, computational study methods, systemic analysis in decision-making. Also the issues of practical use of vibration technologies in mechanics and various production technologies, including in the era of transition to digital economy, were highlighted.
The natural phenomena and disasters, such as earthquakes, floods, seismic sea waves, magnetic storms, etc. were also focused on.
The technologies and machines developed by Mekhanobr Tekhnika and widely used in the industry were demonstrated and explained to all the participants of the School.
The work of the School of Young Scientists will continue i the end of May - the next III session will work in the period from may 29 till 31, 2018.
